1,000 BuckleTimers

We just crossed a thousand signups. Thanks to everyone who's been showing up to the rooms — next number we're chasing is 10,000.

BuckleTime Team Practical notes on focus and deep work

Somebody became the thousandth signup this week. We don’t know who. They didn’t get a popup or a free t-shirt. They just joined a room and started working, which feels about right.

Thank you, by the way. All thousand of you.

A bunch of you have been here since the rough early version where the timer would occasionally just stop. Others joined a week ago. Doesn’t really matter — the rooms only work because people keep showing up to them. One person in a focus room is a browser tab. Five strangers quietly typing is the actual thing.

Stuff we’ve watched happen, that we mostly didn’t plan for

  • Someone finished a dissertation chapter at 4am on a Tuesday
  • Streaks that frankly worry us a little
  • People sending encouragements to total strangers (we thought this would be a dead feature)
  • One person told us they stopped working from bed. We’re counting that as a win.

Next number: 10,000

It’s a bigger jump than the last one and we’re not 100% sure how we get there. There’s a bunch of stuff in the works — mobile is getting a real pass, group rooms are getting fixed, achievements are getting finished. We’ll talk about those when they’re closer.

If you want to help: tell one person. That’s how almost all of you found us in the first place.

Anyway. Get back to it.

Next Move

Read something useful, then take it into a room.

The ideas matter more when there is already a quiet place waiting for you to begin.
